Associate Corporate Litigation

To support our continued growth and ambitions, we are looking for an Associate to strengthen our Corporate Litigation.

We offer pragmatic, businessoriented legal solutions—committed, thoughtful and tailored to each client’s needs.

As an Associate, you will take on challenging and varied work for large and mid-sized Belgian and international companies. You will join a team of around 15 Corporate M&A/Litigation specialists and work directly with clients.

Astrea’s Corporate Litigation team advises on:

• All forms of corporate litigation, from prelitigation strategy to full representation in court.
• Post-transaction claims, including price discussions, payment disputes and shareholder conflicts.
• Contentious matters related to venture capital and private equity transactions, such as investment or governance disputes.
• Complex corporate law conflicts, including director and auditor liability, stakeholder disagreements and challenges to corporate decisionmaking.

Your responsibilities include:

• Guiding clients through both the pre‑litigation and litigation phases.
• Drafting responses to queries and claims, assessing potential liability, advising on mitigating actions, and providing clear guidance on legal merits and strategic options.
• Preparing pleadings, summonses, conclusions and legal arguments, supported by thorough and relevant documentation.
• Being in close contact with clients, understanding their needs, and developing effective legal strategies.
• Representing Astrea at events, contributing to publications, and supporting external client seminars.
• Keeping your expertise up to date through active participation in practice groups, training and seminars.

You have:

• A Belgian Master of Laws, ideally with a focus on corporate law.
• At least 4 years of solid experience in Corporate Litigation.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, with a basic command of French.
• A client-oriented mindset, strong analytical skills and the ability to deliver practical solutions.
• A team player attitude combined with the ability to work independently, strong communication skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.
