Mission

As DPO, you will ensure Unifiedpost Group and its affiliates comply with various data protection legislations. You will work closely with the Head of legal and the management. You will be responsible for ensuring that Unifiedpost adheres to all legal standards as well as internal policies and procedure. The GDPR compliance program will be your biggest challenge. You will advise and assist business in order to guarantee compliance of personal data processing.

Responsibilities

As DPO you will among others:

  • Follow up on the Privacy Compliance Program.
  • Informing and advising the company and employees how to be GDPR compliant and how to comply with other data protection laws.
  • Managing internal policies and making sure the company is following them through.
  • Raising awareness and providing staff training for any employees involved with processing activities.
  • Providing advice regarding data protection impact assessments and monitor its performance.
  • Giving advice and recommendations to the company about the interpretation or application of the data protection rules.
  • Handling complaints or requests by the institutions, the data controller, data subjects.
  • Monitoring compliance with GDPR or other data protection laws and reporting any failure to comply with the GDPR or applicable data protection rules.
  • Identifying and evaluating the company’s data processing activities.
  • Cooperating with local supervisory authorities.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining the records of processing activities (ROPA).
  • Review, update or draft privacy notices.
  • Give support on data breach notifications.
  • Participate in audits and ensure increased compliance or the area of data protection.
  • Assist the Business in the negotiation of data processing agreements.

We are also looking for someone who’s open to do other compliance related tasks in relation to our Compliance program.

In your role of Data Protection Officer, you are clearly a dynamic team player who combines solid strategic thinking with an innovative and creative approach. We highlight the following qualities:

  • You have obtained a Master in Law;
  • You have preferably between 3 and 7 years of relevant experience, gained in a law firm and preferably also as in-house counsel;
  • You have an excellent knowledge of Belgian, European & International regulations in the scope of Privacy and Data Protection.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver autonomously the job tasks and responsibilities;
  • You are organised, methodical, with a keen eye for and attention to detail;
  • You have a flexible, open-minded and international mindset;
  • You have strong communication skills in English, in French and/or Dutch;
