Corporate Legal Counsel

Agomab is looking for an experienced Corporate Counsel to expand its legal team. The role will involve advising on corporate law issues, negotiating strategic transactions and handling corporate governance matters, as well as drafting and negotiating R&D contracts. You will report to the General Counsel.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small team, work on transformative science, and take part in building an exciting, science-driven global company.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on the company’s financing activities, business development and strategic transactions 
• Prepare board and shareholder meetings and handle the corporate legal affairs of the Belgian and Spanish legal entities 
• Negotiate, draft and follow up on the execution of contracts typical for the life sciences industry, including confidentiality agreements, services agreements, research collaboration agreements and license agreements 
• Provide legal advice to the wider organization, including on HR, IP, privacy, competition and financial matters 
• Look for opportunities to improve the company’s legal processes by using legal tech or legal operations solutions  

• You have a Belgian master’s degree in law or a US JD degree 
• 5+ years’ experience in an international law firm and/or in-house environment working in corporate law 
• Interested in the life sciences industry; experience in an R&D biotech or pharma company is a plus 
• Excellent legal drafting skills 
• Strong commercial awareness and business sense, including the ability to provide pragmatic advice on contractual and legal risks 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly and autonomously with a wide range of stakeholders 
• Your core values include high integrity and ethics 
• Fluent in English and Dutch; knowledge of Spanish would be a plus
