The Junior Legal Counsel supports the senior legal counsels in a wide variety of general commercial, real estate, corporate, finance, IP and other related legal fields, covering both the national and international scale.  The job is based in our HQ in Belgium (Groot-Bijgaarden, close to Brussels).

Key Accountabilities:

  • You prepare, draft, review and negotiate a wide range of broad-based commercial contracts and transactions
  • You provide accurate, pragmatic legal advice to the business, in a timely and efficient manner
  • You provide legal assistance to internal clients, by advising on ad-hoc questions and supporting in projects 
  • You monitor and advise on legal disputes and procedures
  • You contribute to and monitor corporate housekeeping of the affiliates of the group
  • You instruct and monitor communication with external lawyers and other advisors used in the context of the above 
  • You contribute to the continuous improvement of the efficiency within the department, amongst others through the development and implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, tools, templates, best practices, trainings…
  • You follow up on developments in laws and regulations, especially in the field of business law, company law, general contract law

Searched profile

  • You have a master degree in law
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (bar experience is a plus)
  • You have a clear preference for a generalist position
  • You are a  team-player
  • You are hands-on, business oriented and a pragmatic person
  • You are a flexible, dynamic person with a social personality and the right amount of can-do mentality
  • Being tech savvy is a plus
  • You have very good knowledge of English and Dutch and/or French, both spoken and written (Spanish is a plus)
