Description of the vacancy:

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Monitoring complex contracts and transactions;
  • Negotiating and drafting all kinds of commercial contracts (building contracts, joint venture agreements, maintenance agreements, shareholder agreements, etc.);
  • Providing practical legal advice on a wide variety of legal issues relating to all Equans activities (contracting law, contract law, public procurement law, PPP, company law,…);
  • Monitoring national and international disputes involving Equans;
  • Analyzing (public and private) tender documents (in particular during the tender phase) and providing practical advice (also in the implementation phase).

Profile:

  • You have a master’s degree in law;
  • You have at least 5 years’ experience in the sector (including 3 years at the bar), preferably as a lawyer or in-house lawyer in an international environment;
  • Demonstrable experience in commercial law and/or public law and more general contract law is a must;
  • Experience in company law and financial law is appreciated, but not required;
  • You have a talent for and interest in negotiating complex contracts and transactions;
  • You have an interest in and understanding of the non-legal aspects of a project: technical, commercial, financial and strategic aspects;
  • You have strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • You are proactive, positive, pragmatic and have an open mind;
  • You are assertive, self-confident and a real team player, while at the same time being able to work autonomously;
  • You speak and write Dutch or French at a native level and English fluently and you can at least also express yourself verbally in French or Dutch.
