The Position

RSA is looking for a Legal & Regulatory Compliance Officer to strengthen its Antwerp-based team. As part of the Belgian management team, the role is to manage the Belgian legal and regulatory compliance issues and to help RSA achieve its goals to comply with relevant laws, policies and regulations in Belgium.

A key aspect of this role is liaising with different departments and stakeholdets across the region together with the Legal, Risk and Compliance Heads in Luxembourg and in the UK.

As a Legal and Regulatory Compliance Officer you will identify, assess and pro-actively manage Belgian legal and compliance risks impacting the Belgian branch and wider including monitoring of new and upcoming Belgian legislation through pro-active horizon scanning.

You will lead or be heavily involved in legal, regulatory and compliance projects across Belgium.

Furthermore, you will lead on the embedding of a compliance culture in the Belgian branch, increasing awareness of compliance related risks and act as the focal point for the Belgian business on compliance matters. This will include issuing guidelines and procedures, monitoring regulatory compliance and supporting training for employees on compliance issues.

You will present the Annual Compliance Plan to the Belgian management team and lead assurance reviews in Belgium. You will also manage legal and regulatory filings for the Belgian branch .

Your Profile

The ideal candidate for this role would have :

• a solid Belgian Legal background, preferably in Insurance or Financial Services Regulation
• ideally between 5 and 10 years of relevant experience
• a good knowledge of Dutch, English and French
• strong relationship management capabilities
• mentoring and communication skills
• a pragmatic approach and a lot of common sense

The role can require the flexibility to travel to other RSA locations and has a primary reporting line into the Head of Legal.
