What your future may hold
As a member of our Group Legal department, you will support the Group in its strategic corporate business projects, as well as on a variety of commercial projects and matters, thereby helping the Group grow its business in a legally compliant and ethical manner.
You will provide the Group’s business divisions and functions with first-class legal advisory, contract drafting and litigation support and assist in the development of state-of-the-art legal processes and tools. You will also support the Group’s preventive law strategy and its compliance initiatives in corporate, commercial and business law matters.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Advising on strategic projects such as M&A projects and joint ventures, as well as the Group’s external financing arrangements.
- Providing contract drafting, negotiation and related support.
- Providing functional support and advice to the Group’s business divisions with respect to commercial and business law matters, with a focus on commercial contracts and relevant regulations.
- Managing corporate housekeeping matters with respect to the Group’s subsidiaries, including drafting and reviewing corporate documents.
- Advising on, and managing the Group’s compliance with, applicable corporate, corporate governance, securities, market abuse and related laws.
- Managing arbitration and litigation proceedings falling within your areas of responsibility.
- Keeping abreast of relevant legal evolutions and developments and managing outside counsel.
- Developing and maintaining strong business partner relationships with the relevant internal stakeholders in the Group’s business divisions and relevant group functions.
- Developing a network of relevant authorities, regulators and other external stakeholders.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of a preventive legal strategy and designing tools, processes, training and policies related thereto, and contributing to the deployment thereof.
You will report directly to the Group General Counsel.
Your skillset
- You obtained a European Master’s degree in Law. A post-graduate degree is a plus.
- You have at least 3 years of experience as a corporate or business lawyer in a reputable law firm and/or in the legal department as of a mid-sized or large corporation.
- You have an excellent knowledge of English and a good knowledge of Dutch and/or French.
- You have a positive and results-oriented attitude and an an eagerness to take on strategic projects within the Group.
- You are strong communicator and team player allowing you to work effectively in an international and multi-cultural environment.
- You are willing to effect occasional business travel.
