Three new partners at A&O Shearman in Belgium

We are excited to introduce our three new partners at A&O Shearman Belgium, effective May 1, 2026.
 
Eliana Paredis has been promoted to partner in the antitrust practice. Eliana has been with our Brussels office for ten years and is known for advising Belgian and international clients across various sectors on a wide range of (Belgian and EU) competition law matters, including the full range of regulatory approvals for M&A transactions and cartel investigations.

Mark Taylor has been promoted to partner in the antitrust practice. Mark has been with the firm for 13 years, having worked across the London and Brussels offices. He advises on all aspects of EU and UK competition law, with particular expertise in abuse of dominance investigations and matters relating to digital markets. Mark also represents clients before the European courts in Luxembourg and has acted in landmark cases involving appeals of European Commission infringement decisions, notably in abuse of dominance and gun‑jumping matters.

With these promotions, our Brussels antitrust practice doubles its partner strength, underscoring both the momentum of the team and our commitment to continued growth. Eliana’s and Mark’s complementary expertise further strengthens our Belgian, EU and international offering across regulatory approvals, cartel and dominance investigations, and the fast‑evolving digital and platform economy.

Esther Remy has been promoted to partner in the M&A practice. Esther has been part of our Brussels office for seven years and has strong expertise in corporate law. She advises Belgian and international clients on a broad range of domestic and cross‑border M&A transactions, joint ventures, private equity and capital markets matters, as well as on restructuring transactions across various industries. 
 
With this promotion, our Belgian M&A practice grows to five partners, enhancing the depth of our expertise across key transactional areas and further strengthening how we support clients on their most complex and strategic matters.
