Your profile

  • Freelance Compliance Expert residing in Belgium. 
  • Minimum degree in law, business economics, finance, or equivalent through experience. 
  • Passionate about Compliance, staying up-to-date on geo-political developments. 
  • Over 10 years of experience in Compliance, with broad expertise in program management, monitoring, investigations (including whistleblowing management), and training (including Learning Management Systems). 
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages such as French, Spanish, or German is a plus. 
  • Pragmatic, business-oriented problem solver with meticulous work and quick insights into new matters. 
  • Empathic, collaborative, team-focused approach with strong verbal and written communication skills.

As a member of the Legal & Compliance team, you'll collaborate closely with other departments to support the company's compliance structure growth.

As a Freelance Compliance Expert, your strength lies in combining substantive fieldwork with strategic knowledge. You thrive in a role that involves hands-on development in a mature international and future-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, enhance, and ensure the ongoing development and continuity of the compliance program strategy for the overall group. 
  • Coordinate, design, and execute the compliance framework and program, covering risk management, third-party risk management, trade control, sanctions, Bribery & Corruption advisory, GDPR, ESG, Competition, training, investigations, continuous monitoring, and reporting. 
  • Bring broad compliance expertise to further enroll the existing program. 
  • Report to the Chief Legal and Compliance, working closely with other business stakeholders for global regulatory obligations, focusing on strategic and pragmatic program implementation aligned with regulatory expectations and best practices. 
  • Manage a dynamic role combining hands-on compliance work, strategic development, knowledge sharing, integration, and systematic reporting. 
  • Maintain strong business partner relationships with stakeholders in different regional business units and countries.
