To index or not to index, that is the question

Sector specific indexation rules are still applicable while legislation for the 2015 "indexation skip" is pending.

Although the governmental agreement foresees that automatic salary indexation will be skipped in 2015, such principle has still not been converted into actual legislation adopted in Parliament.

Companies must therefore continue to apply the indexation rules applicable within their business sector until such legislation enters into force.

Within joint committee 218, for example, this means that a 0.03% indexation should be introduced this month, even if it is most likely that the bypassing of the index will be formalised during the course of 2015, with or without retro-active effect.
