A new partner at KEY LEGAL

KEY LEGAL is delighted to announce the promotion of Nicolas Vander Heyde to its partnership, effective from 1 January 2022. Nicolas joined the firm in 2018. Admitted to the Brussels Bar since 2012, Nicolas’s work encompasses all aspects of real estate law, including: sale and purchase operations, lease contracts and all matters relating to occupancy rights. He advises on commercial real estate contracts and is an accomplished litigator within the Key Legal’s team for construction law issues, tenancy disputes and judicial expertise.

KEY LEGAL has also welcomed Essya Kastally and Edouard Huysmans, a multidisciplinary team who are well versed in all aspects of corporate criminal law. Access to high quality services in this field are essential. Notable areas of applicability include: financial fraud, abuse of company property, money laundering, insider trading, tax offences, employment violations (accidents at work, violation of well-being at work, etc.), violations of the Company Code, environmental law, laws governing urban planning, frauds relating to subsidies, counterfeiting, computer fraud, private/public corruption, concealment of succession, etc.. Essya and Edouard assist both those facing prosecution as well as victims. They can provide advice from the first police hearings throughout processes which can avoid litigation as well as defending before courts and tribunals. Additionally, they can provide the legal counsel necessary to manage criminal liability of companies and institutions following the breach of a regulatory offence for which they were unaware was occurring in their organisation.
