MWingz is a joint venture between Orange Belgium and Proximus. It aims to develop a mobile access network by sharing telecom equipment (active and passive equipment of the Radio Access Network).

The mission of MWingz is to operate the existing mobile access networks in the most qualitative and efficient way, and to deliver the most efficient consolidated shared network. MWingz enables differentiation of the parent companies’ networks and ensures confidential and fair treatment of both operators.

MWingz is currently looking for a solo legal counsel (supported by parent company legal functions), based in Brussels.

Description of the vacancy

  • As a solo legal counsel, you will operate in a technological and regulated environment with respect of the segregation of info for each parent company.
  • You will be the first point of contact for all legal topics. Your role will be to give active guidance and legal advice to the business in order to ensure that MWingz's activities comply with the applicable legal framework.
  • You will actively participate in company projects and you will help in implementing them taking into account the joint venture’s objectives, the legal and regulatory framework.
  • You will further develop all types of official and contractual legal documents and negotiate contracts with suppliers and external partners.
  • You will monitor and ensure all legal and administrative obligations concerning corporate housekeeping and drafting or revising official documents.
  • You will monitor changes in the laws and regulations to ensure the company complies with the law.
  • You will participate, in collaboration with the various internal departments, in the resolution of any disputes with third parties.
  • You will be responsible for the audits (internal and external).
  • You will interact with parent company legal functions to ensure alignment where needed.
  • You will promote ethical conduct, respect of values and compliance with laws and internal and external regulations at all levels and prevent unlawful or unethical behaviour.
  • You will report to the CFO of the Joint Venture.

Profile

  • You have a Belgian master’s degree in law.
  • You have around 5 years of professional experience preferably gained in a legal department of an international company or within a law firm.
  • You are a generalist and have experience in corporate, commercial, compliance, competition, social and administrative law.
  • Specific experience in the telecom and technology industry is an asset.
  • You have great interpersonall, negotiation and influencing skills, and you are able to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • You have good analytical and drafting skills.
  • You can work autonomously and you are proactive.
  • You are fluent in Dutch, French and English (oral and written).
