What your future may hold

  • As a Legal Counsel within Lotus Bakeries, you will get the opportunity to take on a very dynamic, international role with a broad scope of involvement, focused on commercial & consumer law.     
  • You will take up the responsibility for the review of brand & product-related contracts (procurement, sales, marketing, distribution,...) and assess any legal implications that need to be brought to the business’ attention.   
  • You prepare, review and modify contract templates.   
  • You provide professional, timely and pragmatic legal advice (both B2B and B2C) to the business entities of Lotus Bakeries in your designated areas in their day-to-day operations, including unfair market practices, advertising, e-commerce, etc.   
  • You follow-up on (mostly international) litigation and arbitration procedures and ensure the best possible outcome for the business.  
  • You monitor legal developments, perform research and analysis of global laws, rules, regulations and case law applicable to the Lotus Bakeries Group. 
  • You interpret and advise on the above and communicate findings and implementation steps towards the Legal Team.      
  • You will have a pivotal role in the continuous improvement of the legal function, developing and implementing guidelines, policies and/or procedures which are instrumental for a smooth though compliant way of working within the Group.  
  • Working close together with the Legal Manager, you can expand your expertise towards specific domains, depending on your personal interests and ambitions. 

Your skillset

  • You obtained a Belgian Master’s degree in Law and have at least 3 years of experience as a corporate lawyer in a reputable law firm and/or in the legal department of a mid-sized or large (internationally oriented) corporation.
  •  You have relevant experience with commercial contract drafting and knowledge of contract law, corporate law and EU regulations such as consumer protection, e-commerce, advertisement, antitrust, etc.·       
  • You have an excellent knowledge of Dutch and English.
  • You have a warm personality that combines strong social skills and team-orientation with a pragmatic approach to problem solving, clear analytical skills, curiosity to learn and organizational talent.
  •  A focus on excellent execution, treating deadlines with high priority, and an above-average attention to detail are your assets.
