The Belgian law firm CMS DeBacker has announced that Virginie Dor (partner, public procurements) has been named by the European Commission as a member of the stakeholder expert group on public procurement.
The group comprises 20 members from different European countries. The tasks of the group shall be to provide the Commission with high quality legal, economic, technical and/or practical insight and expertise with a view to assisting it in shaping the public procurement policy of the Union. The group of experts will assist the Commission in the preparation of legislation or in policy definition in public procurements and provide expertise to the Commission when preparing implementing measures in this field.
Virginie Dor joined the Brussels office of CMS DeBacker in 2003 and specialises in public procurement law. Made partner in the firm on 19 December of last year, Virginie assists public authorities and private companies in shaping public orders and competitive tenders, and the awarding and implementation of public contracts. Her experience encompasses all economic sectors. She gives training on public procurement regulations and has written several publications on the subject. Virginie sits on the ESIMAP board of directors, a specialist training body for public procurement.
