Company description

deprevernet, a Brussels-based law firm, is recognized for its expertise in Belgian and European institutional litigation, economic public law, competition law, data protection, and administrative law. It has been assisting numerous regulatory and supervisory authorities—including the Belgian Data Protection Authority (DPA) and the European Data Protection Board (EDPB)—for several years.

In order to expand its litigation practice before the General Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union, deprevernet is looking to strengthen its team.

Specialized in legal recruitment in Belgium, Screen Legal is seeking for deprevernet lawyers passionate about European litigation, eager to work on high-profile cases before the EU courts, dealing with issues related to data protection, fundamental freedoms, and institutional governance.

Description

Under the supervision of the firm’s partners and in direct contact with clients, you will be involved in the preparation of cases (direct actions) brought before the General Court or the Court of Justice. You will also contribute to strategic monitoring of developments in the CJEU’s case law.

In addition, you will handle matters related to competition law, regulation of liberalized markets, and Belgian constitutional and administrative law.

This unique opportunity offers you the chance to:

  • Work on landmark European litigation cases involving sensitive and high-profile issues.
  • Join a stimulating environment within a leading, dynamic, and fast-growing law firm.
  • Benefit from a unique strategic positioning, serving high-level public sector clients.

Profile sought:

  • Excellent academic background in European law / European litigation.
  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in European institutional litigation (as a practicing lawyer, legal clerk at the General Court or the Court, in-house counsel at an institution, etc.).
  • A specialization or knowledge in data protection law (GDPR) is an appreciated asset but not a requirement: your expertise in European litigation takes priority.
  • Languages: Excellent command of English and a good level of French, both written and spoken.
