Company description

Linklaters is a leading global law firm which specializes in advising the world’s leading companies, financial institutions and governments on their most challenging transactions and assignments. With offices in major business and financial centers, we deliver an outstanding service to our clients anywhere in the world.

What do we offer?

Our employment practice is involved in various high-profile, interesting employment matters, including recent and ongoing employment restructurings covered in the media. In view of the growing market opportunities, we would like to strengthen our team.

We are looking for a motivated talent, willing to take on responsibilities and play a major role in the growth of our employment practice.

You will be involved in all areas of both collective and individual employment law, including assistance of clients in drafting and terminating employment contracts, collective redundancies and all employment aspects of corporate restructurings. Work in these areas not only includes outside-court assistance, but also covers litigation before the court. You will thus be entrusted with a mix of transactional, advisory and litigation work in the employment field.

You will have first-hand contacts with both the legal and HR departments of our clients. Given the increasingly international character of our work, there will be plenty of opportunity to work with colleagues and clients worldwide.

We firmly believe that the business a law firm operates in, is a people business. That is the reason why we will provide you with state-of-the-art training on a practice, local and global level – on legal, technology and “soft” skills.

What do we expect?

  • We are looking for a bright confident lawyer with 1 to 5 years’ experience and a keen interest in financial, economic and legal matters on a global scale.
  • You have Dutch as your mother tongue and an excellent command of English and French..
  • You have a first-class Belgian law degree, possibly combined with additional education abroad or a postgraduate degree in the field.
  • You have a strong analytical sense, excellent drafting and presentation skills (also in English), are commercially aware and solution-oriented.
  • You are a team player and have the ability to operate throughout complexity and ambiguity staying focused on best outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • You are pragmatic, solution-driven and creative enough to challenge what the future looks like (possibly combined with a focus on technology), based in a firm which is always striving to be consistently excellent, admired and at the cutting edge of the global legal market.
