Our Africa practice

Our Africa practice serves Belgian and foreign clients in countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, Togo, Benin, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Angola, the Ivory Coast, Senegal, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and South Africa.

We offer our clients unparalleled experience and support from our offices in Brussels, Kinshasa (DRC) and Kigali (Rwanda), allowing our clients not only to seize opportunities but also to navigate and overcome the challenges of the African market.

Our offices in Kinshasa (RDC) and Kigali were established with the aim to enhance our capability to provide local legal support and operational assistance to companies and other stakeholders active across Francophone Africa (DRC and Rwanda in particular).

Our areas of expertise include amongst others corporate & commercial law, banking & finance law, mining & energy law, and much more. We have longstanding knowledge of OHADA law which applies uniformly in 17 countries.

We are currently looking for a Junior Associate to join our Brussels office.

What we expect

Our new colleague:

  • is a native French speaker, with an excellent command of English
  • has a first-class Belgian law degree with excellent academic results
  • has experienced additional education abroad, which is considered highly desirable
  • has an interest in multiple legal areas (corporate law, financial law, mining law, telecommunications...) – knowledge of OHADA law is a big asset
  • has strong analytical skills and drafting skills
  • has a hands-on mentality, is proactive and ready to take initiative
  • has an eagerness to learn
