What is Regulatory and compliance at Osborne Clarke?

Our sector lawyers operate across 12 service lines. A key service line within our firm is dedicated to Regulatory and compliance work. Our lawyers are involved in facilitating our clients' adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry or ethical standards, through advisory and contract work, as part of litigation proceedings and in their interactions with competent authorities. This includes assessing and mitigating legal risks, ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle of regulated products (including their development and marketing), and providing strategic guidance to clients to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and cross-border compliance issues.

As part of this position, you would be involved in supporting the OC Regulatory and compliance team, with a strong focus on two areas in particular: the Life sciences and healthcare sector and the Retail and consumer sector. You would be advising (international) clients on European Union (EU), cross-border or local (Belgium) Regulatory and compliance issues (for instance in relation to medicines, medical devices, fast-moving consumers goods, food, cosmetics or industrial goods). You would also be expected to devote a portion of your time to and participate actively in business development (BD) initiatives.

What sets us apart? It’s our future focus. And it’s our culture.

Our clients tell us time and time again that we’re approachable, knowledgeable and straightforward. They say it’s a big part of what they like about us, and why they’d choose us again. They know we deliver on client service and sector-based knowledge. But they also know we do all we can to give them the right advice today to help them succeed tomorrow.

Being future focused is part of who we are. It’s our unique culture that has helped us step away from stuffy stereotypes, be brave enough to break the mould and courageous enough to seek out new ways of delivering value, expertise and insights to our clients. Our culture ensures a great working environment that attracts top talent.
