Company description

Janson is a multidisciplinary and multilingual business law firm founded in 1950. Today, the firm has around one hundred lawyers, most of whom have completed their university studies with an LL.M or another university degree from Belgium or abroad.

Throughout its expansion, Janson has remained independent of other national and international law firms, but has maintained close ties with similarly committed independent law firms throughout the world.  

In 2004, the law firm van Drooghenbroeck-Lagneaux, specialising in social law, merged with Janson. In order to be closer to its clients in the Flemish region, the firm opened an office in Ghent in 2011. The law firm Favart, based in Mons since 1957, joined Janson in 2017.

For its Ghent office, Janson is looking for a junior associate (m/f/x) with excellent academic results. You will work within the dispute resolution team which is highly ranked in all international legal guides. She/he/x can join a dynamic and experienced team where, in addition to high-quality service, a sense of entrepreneurship, flexibility, autonomy and team spirit are highly valued. 

She/he will be coached and supervised by more experienced lawyers who are experts in their fields. Advisory work with Belgian and international financial institutions will all be part of your day-to-day. 


  • You hold a Belgian Master’s degree in law (with excellent grades). A complementary Master’s degree is a plus; 
  • You have a strong interest in dispute resolution; 
  • You have a practical and solution-oriented mindset combined with high standards of work quality; 
  • You have excellent communication skills and a fluent pen; 
  • You are a flexible team player; and 
  • You are a native Dutch speaker, with excellent knowledge of English and French.
