What does this job entail?

KBC Asset Management takes care of the money of millions of clients from around the world. They do this with teamwork. As a Legal Advisor, you add your strengths to a team of 23 professionals spread across five countries. Together, you support our international activities with targeted legal advice.
Our asset managers work on more than 200 investment portfolios at every step from A to Z: funds and mandates of wealthy individuals and the mandates of institutional clients. What do we expect from you?

  • You advise on a broad range of Belgian and Luxembourg funds, working in close collaboration with other fund lawyers. You are in direct contact with senior management and work with colleagues in different functions within KBC Asset Management. They include experts in product development, portfolio management, compliance and risk.
  • You are responsible for the drafting and/or revision of fund documentation (prospects, KIIDs, statutes and board decisions) when there are new launches, prospectus changes, fusions and/or funds are liquidated.
  • You set up and negotiate contracts.
  • You give advice on regulatory projects, the interpretation and implementation of new regulations and guidelines that are relevant to us. They lie in the direction of SFDR or taxonomy.
  • You’re in contact with regulators, KBC Group Legal and external stakeholders on legal and regulatory issues.

Your key strengths?

  • You have a master’s degree in law. You’ve worked for another financial institution or in an office that has clients from the financial sector. Do you have experience with UCITS & AIFMD? It’s a highly appreciated added value. What if you don’t have this experience? We will be happy to know you’re motivated about pursuing your own development.
  • You are meticulous in your analyses, noticing every detail. It is one of your strengths.
  • You communicate strongly in Dutch, English and French.
  • You’re an experienced professional and know exactly how to manage your time efficiently.
  • You adopt a strong, pragmatic attitude with business stakeholders. You defend your standpoints with well-founded arguments.
