Your function

My client, Connect Group, is seeking a motivated (junior) Legal Counsel to join the legal team and support their rapid international growth.

Reporting to the Legal Counsel, you will play a vital role in providing legal support on various aspects of their business, with a focus on international contracts and emerging compliance matters. Here's what the role entails:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. International Contracts: Assist in negotiating and reviewing international contracts, particularly when dealing with subcontractor agreements and supplier contracts. You'll be ensuring their interests are well-represented.

  2. Legal Advice: Provide legal guidance and ad hoc legal advice to internal teams, including commercial, financial, and supply chain departments, on a wide range of issues.

  3. Claims Management: Handle claims and damage cases, ensuring the protection of the company's interests.

  4. International Scope: Collaborate on legal matters across their global footprint, requiring fluency in English and a proactive approach to international legal challenges.

  5. Compliance: As they increasingly focus on compliance, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to their compliance initiatives and potentially take on more responsibilities in this area.

Your profile

  • EU Master's degree in Law (Belgium-specific qualifications are not required)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant legal experience
  • Strong command of English is essential; proficiency in other languages, particularly Spanish, is a plus
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a dynamic, international legal environment
  • Interest in emerging compliance matters is desirable
