What your future may hold

The objective of the Compliance function is to ensure that the company and its employees comply with the laws, regulations, internal rules and ethical standards. To that end, the Compliance Officer will identify and assess potential compliance risk and guarantee the professional management (monitoring and mitigating measures) of those.

Your responsibilities include among others:

  • Support the implementation and execution of the compliance function within Ageas as defined by the regulatory authorities;
  • Support regular updates on legal and regulatory changes;
  • Develop and execute a Compliance Regulatory Outlook;
  • Ensure the translation of the regulatory framework and rules into precise policies and instructions;
  • Ensure monitoring and assessing of compliance with policies and instructions, take the necessary measures (training, information, sanctions) to reduce potential compliance risks;
  • Ensure the adequate reporting both to internal and external stakeholders – compile reports of calls received, investigations conducted, findings and recommendations developed, action plans established, and progress noted.
  • Ensure an adequate fraud investigation according set principles whenever required.

You will report directly to the Group Director Compliance at Ageas Group.

Your skillset

  • You obtained a Master’s degree in (applied) economics, business engineering, or any relevant economic major.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a compliance function (preferably in audit, risk management and/or internal control).
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch (both spoken and written).
  • You are willing to understand the (re)insurance business and in particular the impact of the regulatory frameworks on the insurance activities.
  • You are able to shine in an international context.
  • You have an eye for detail and a process driven mindset.
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills (to influence the corporate staff to be compliant).
  • You demonstrate the highest degree of integrity and discretion.
