Taylor Wessing Brussels is pleased to announce the appointment of a new partner, Bart Vandereeckt. Bart has joined the firm from Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick, where he was an associate for more than 12 years. He will head up Taylor Wessing's IP/IT department in Brussels.
Bart's practice covers all aspects of intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, copyright and design rights, as well as unfair trade practices. He also advises clients on information technology, software contracts, e-commerce and data protection. His broad experience encompasses patent infringement litigation for domestic and international companies in various technical fields, and trademark, design and copyright infringement litigation. Bart further counsels on many aspects of intellectual property portfolio management, including licensing, technology transfer, protection of trade and domain names and strategic IP planning. He also specialises in trade practices (including litigation) and information technology, such as e-commerce, software contracts and data protection.

Bart Vandereeckt Biography :
Bart works in all areas of intellectual property law and trade practices law. Bart advises clients in contentious and non-contentious matters, and has extensive experience in trademarks, domain names, copyright/designs and patent litigation. Bart also advises clients on information technology, software contracts, e-commerce and data protection.
Bart studied law in Belgium at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (K.U. Leuven). He obtained a D.E.A. in Community law at the University of Aix-Marseille 3 (France) in 1995.
He began his career as a lawyer in 1996, worked with the Belgian law firm Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick during 12 years. He joined our Brussels office as partner in 2009. Bart is member of the Brussels bar.
He is member of various professional and international associations for the protection of intellectual property.
He speaks Dutch, French, English, and has basic knowledge of German.
