Linklaters elects 2 new Partners and promotes 3 new Counsel in Belgium

Linklaters has announced the election of 41 new partners across its global network and 11 practice areas. In addition, there are also two promotions to partner in Zhao Sheng Law Firm, our joint operation firm in China.

The firm is also delighted to announce that 53 of its lawyers, drawn from 14 practice areas and 16 offices, have been promoted to counsel with effect from 1 May 2023.

All these promotions take effect from 1 May 2023.

With diversity, equity and inclusion being at the heart of Linklaters’ culture and values, the firm is pleased to have met its 40% global gender diversity target for female partner promotions and its 15% target for under-represented minority ethnic partners in new partner elections annually (UK & US).

Linklaters is particularly thrilled to welcome Anne-Sophie Vankemmelbeke (Corporate & Finance) and William Leslie (Antitrust & Foreign Investment Group) in Brussels to the global partnership.

Anne-Sophie advises on the full finance spectrum. She has extensive experience advising on all types of debt capital markets products (including equity linked, hybrids and structured products). Anne-Sophie combines this with a broader banking expertise with a particular focus on strategic finance work, sustainable finance, asset finance and general corporate lending. She also specialises in structured finance (including securitisations).

Will advises multinational corporates and other institutions on all areas of EU competition, foreign investment and regulatory laws. He has a broad range of experience in EU and UK competition law, notably in relation to complex M&A, abuse of dominance, state aid and regulatory price control matters.

Will has assisted clients with merger control filings and antitrust proceedings across multiple jurisdictions, with particular experience before the European Commission and the UK’s Competition & Markets Authority. His experience spans many industry sectors, with a particular focus in the tech, telecoms, life sciences, financial infrastructure and FMCG spaces.
