Energy law specialist Bram Delvaux joins Eubelius

Energy law specialist Bram Delvaux has joined the independent business law firm Eubelius as Of Counsel.

With the arrival of Bram, Eubelius strengthens itself in a meaningful way in the ever fascinating sector of the energy law in full evolution.

The challenges in the energy sector are immense. The need for investment in the Belgian power generation and electricity network, the expected regulatory framework for district heating networks, the extension of the consumer protection, the new market processes and the need to finance energy efficiency investments are only some hot topics.

In the past, Bram worked as Deputy Head of Cabinet of the Flemish Minister in charge of energy. Prior to that, he worked at an international law firm and was a counsellor for various energy Ministers at federal and regional level. In September 2011 he received the Ph.D. degree in Law (University of Leuven). He is affiliated with the Institute for Environmental and Energy Law of the Law Faculty at the University of Leuven and is a lecturer at the University of Malta.

"Bram Delvaux is currently one of the leading energy specialists in our country. Bram’s broad knowledge and expertise in the field is an important addition to Eubelius. Not only do we offer high quality legal work but also a great practical knowledge of the sector and its policy", said Patrick Hofströssler, Chairman of the Management Committee of Eubelius.

"Innovative projects, such as building heating networks, or sensitive issues such as the regulation of consumer relations, require a multidisciplinary legal approach. A law firm such as Eubelius is ideally suited to provide the best services in the energy sector. The arrival of Bram testifies the importance of this sector within Eubelius. It allows us to better respond to the continuous challenges our clients face", emphasizes Barteld Schutyser, Eubelius partner and head of the practice group Public Law.
