PROMOTION FOR TALENT AT EUBELIUS

Eubelius is promoting five young attorneys, creating two equity partners, two associated partners and one of counsel, in keeping with the firm's tradition of allowing promising attorneys to grow.

Jeroen Delvoie, who will become an equity partner as of 1 January 2013, fits exceptionally well into the Eubelius traditions of academic excellence and loyalty. After his traineeship within the firm, he returned to the University of Brussels (VUB) as a research fellow (FWO) to finish his Ph.D. Jeroen will be in charge of further developing our practice in public economic law, and is better placed than anyone else to master the complex interactivity between public enterprise law and private law.

Wouter Claes will return to Eubelius as of 1 January 2013 as an equity partner. As head of the Brussels tax practice, Wouter will succeed Philippe Hinnekens, who is leaving Eubelius to pursue new professional challenges. Wouter Claes, together with his mentor, has built up the Eubelius tax team. He also had the opportunity to gain additional experience at Deloitte. After a period based in Hong Kong, Wouter is returning to private practice as an attorney. Together with Kristof Spagnoli in Antwerp, he will lead the Eubelius tax practice. Philippe Hinnekens expresses his gratitude to Kristof Spagnoli and all the members of the excellent tax team for their good and pleasant collaboration over the past years. On behalf of Eubelius, the partners express their appreciation to Philippe for his contribution to the development of the tax practice and wish him every success in his future professional career.

Joke Pattyn, in Kortrijk, and Michael Truyen, in Brussels, become associated partners as of 1 January 2013. Joke and Michael are perfect examples of promising young trainees starting their career at Eubelius and finding support in their team to further their career: Joke in M&A, Michael in bio-engineering and ICT.

Arne Vandaele has been promoted to of counsel as of 1 October 2012, and will take responsibility for the internal and external development of the broad environmental and planning practice. It will be Arne's task to further promote Eubelius in this field, as he has the expertise to handle the most complex matters of environmental and planning law.

Eubelius firmly intends to continue encouraging its young associates in the same manner: young lawyers who make a difference because of their intellectual abilities and reputation but also because of their dedication and their outstanding skills.
