Bruno Lebrun joins UGGC & Associés as Partner

Established in Brussels for some 20 years, UGGC & Associés is consolidating its Brussels office and its economic law department with the arrival of Bruno Lebrun, a new partner specializing in competition and Community law.

Bruno Lebrun is a practising attorney at the Brussels Bar (since June 1994) specializing in competition and Community law.

Bruno Lebrun deals with cases involving cartels and concentrations, both at European and domestic level. He has been involved in significant investigations commissioned by the European Commission in matters of abuse of dominant position. He also advises his clients with their joint venture projects, especially with they combine intellectual property and competition issues. Finally, he assists companies and public authorities with matters involving State aids and regularly advises on general issues of Community law, notably on pharmaceutical, environmental, financial services, and the protection of private life.

The presence of Bruno Lebrun gives a boost to relationships between our firm and European Union institutional operators in Brussels, and the European Commission in particular, with which Bruno Lebrun is regularly in contact in connection with claims, notifications or otherwise, not in connection with any court proceedings, and notably to
assist economic operators in their dealings with European Union authorities, at different stages, when regulations are adopted and when applications are examined.

«I am very happy to join UGGC & Associés and be part of the new dynamics of the Brussels office. The reputation of the firm in France, its international scale and its standing in Brussels for some 20 years mean that we can offer from Brussels a wide range of services combining Belgian law, competition law and Community law. By offering these three competences together, we consolidate our intervention capacity, and we are proud of it» explains Bruno Lebrun.

«I have known Bruno since I started my professional practice and I am delighted that he has decided to join our firm to carry on with our development in Community and competition law. This project is perfectly in keeping with the growing internationalization of our firm» declared Corinne Khayat, a partner at UGGC & Associés, specializing
in French and European competition law.

Before joining UGGC & Associés, Bruno, who practised law in Paris for around four years, was a partner at Howrey LLP (2005-2007) and then at Latham & Watkins LLP (2007- 2010).
Bruno is accompanied by Thibault Balthazar who joins UGGC & Associés as an associate. Thibault has a great experience of competition and Community law, since he did his traineeship at the Court of Justice of the European Union and within the antitrust practise of Latham & Watkins LLP.
