LIEDEKERKE WOLTERS WAELBROECK KIRKPATRICK AWARDED “BEST BENELUX LAWFIRM” 2010, TOGETHER WITH ARENDT & MEDERNACH.

Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick (Belgium) has just been named as the "Best Benelux Lawfirm" of 2010 by the prestigious jury of the International Legal Alliance Summit Awards (ILASA) at a gala held in Paris on 3 June 2010, equal first along with the firm of Arendt & Medernach (Luxembourg).

The juries are made up of over 100 legal and financial directors of top-link multinational companies, including Total, Véolia, SAP, Nestlé, Oracle, Lazard, Philips, Marsh and Telecom Italia. Around 200 firms were nominated, spread over some 20 categories or jurisdictions.

The key criteria considered by the ILASA jury cover services and advice provided over the past two years in transaction matters, the profiles of the partners and M&A teams, and the overall financial and HR development of the firm. "Liedekerke had an excellent year in 2008. In spite of the crisis, our firm succeeded in confirming its good results and growth in 2009," says Aimery de Schoutheete, Liedekerke's Managing Partner. "Thanks to our flexibility, our pro-active approach and diversified competences, we were able to assist our clients at every level in exceptional financial and economic circumstances, whether they were companies in difficulties going through a restructuring or even insolvency or, by contrast, companies with sufficient strength to venture into the field of acquisitions. Our combined expertise enables us to view issues globally and provide optimum pragmatic solutions." "This award is a distinction for our partners but especially also for their teams: it is a public embodiment of the spirit of service and excellence that motivates them," adds Thierry Tilquin, Liedekerke partner in charge of the Corporate & Finance department. Founded in 1965 and with a complement of 130 lawyers, Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick is one of the largest business law firms in Belgium.
