Field Fisher Waterhouse adds public administrative capability to its Brussels office with new hire.

European law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse announces today the appointment of new regulatory partner Véronique Vanden Acker who joins the firm’s Brussels office.  Her appointment closely follows those of partner Stijn Debaene and associate Hakim Haouideg.  All three join the firm from Allen & Overy.

Véronique joins Field Fisher Waterhouse to develop a Public and Administrative Law capability in Brussels. Her practice covers all issues relating to co-operation between the public and private sector, from public procurement contracts to complicated Public-Private Partnership (PPP) structures, including concessions for works or services and  real estate and financial transactions with or involving public authorities. Veronique’s expertise also includes privatisation and reorganisation of regulated companies. Further, she has a regulatory practice mainly in the pharmaceutical and communications sectors. Her clients include a wide range of public authorities or entities and private companies in fields such as real estate, banking, national and regional government, pharmaceuticals, technology, water and energy. Her expertise brings additional public law advice to the firm’s real estate, commercial litigation and corporate clients as well as complementing the UK office’s strong regulatory capability.

The Brussels office opened in April 2007, founded by three partners. Since then it has rapidly expanded and continues to grow with these latest hires bringing the total number of lawyers in Brussels to 13 partners and 27 fee earners.

Eric Cusas, managing partner of the Brussels office, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Véronique to the firm. Her appointment represents a cross-practice asset, as it will allow us to offer additional services to our existing real estate, commercial litigation and corporate clients.”
