Liedekerke promotes Bruno Aguirre, Jasper Bossuyt and Jonas Vansevenant to Counsel

Liedekerke is delighted to announce the promotion of Bruno Aguirre, Jasper Bossuyt and Jonas Vansevenant to Counsel, effective from 1 January 2024. Based in the Brussels office, Bruno, Jasper and Jonas are respectively members of the Employment & Benefits, Tax and Commercial Contracts & Litigation practices. 

Bruno is dedicated to navigating Belgian and international clients through the dynamic employment landscape in every step of their employment relationships, advising and assisting clients on the complexities of hiring, bonuses, incentives, workplace privacy, audits and dismissals. He regularly represents clients before the labour courts and labour courts of appeal. His practice further focuses on the employment law aspects of domestic and cross-border transactions, reorganisations and restructurings, including transfers of undertakings (TUPE), share transfers, outsourcings, collective dismissals and closures of businesses. He also assists clients in the information and consultation processes related thereto as well as in the negotiation with trade unions of collective bargaining agreements. In addition, Bruno specialises in whistleblowing legislation, advising clients on setting up and organising internal reporting channels as well as on managing reports filed by whistleblowers. He works for both domestic and international clients across a wide variety of sectors, including Belgian and multinational companies as well as start-ups. 

With significant expertise in Belgian and international tax advisory, transactional and litigation work, Jasper advises clients on all aspects of Belgian and international tax law focusing on corporate tax advisory work. He has an extensive knowledge of double tax treaties. Jasper further assists clients in domestic and cross-border transactions, including corporate and structured finance, M&A, capital markets, private equity and (debt) restructuring. In addition, he advises domestic and international clients during tax audits as well as in administrative (including MAP) and judicial proceedings before Belgian tribunals and courts. Jasper is also a researcher and guest professor affiliated with the Institute of Tax Law at KU Leuven where he lectures on corporate and international tax law (Brussels). He frequently speaks at seminars, and has authored various books and articles on tax-related topics. 

Jonas specialises in industrial liability, commercial litigation, international commercial transactions, and complex construction and engineering projects. Jonas is particularly familiar with EPC and D&B contracts, logistics contracts, contracts in the energy sector, international sales contracts and tailor- made commercial cooperation contracts. He advises and represents various players in the energy, construction, manufacturing, (petro)chemical, retail, transport and logistics sectors in regards to their contracting practices and disputes. He has been praised for being keen to familiarise himself with the tech- nical, financial, and economic aspects of a case or project in order to provide effective representation. Complementary to his legal assistance in complex cases, Jonas is proficient in data analysis and document automation.
