Sotra - Organizational changes

At the start of this new year, which will be marked by the 10th anniversary of its foundation, the law firm Sotra is pleased to announce the following:

Karel Devloo becomes Partner

A lawyer at the Brussels Bar since 2015, Karel joined Sotra in 2018. He developed his skills in individual and collective labour law, with a particular focus on corporate reorganisations and flexible working, in which he is a recognised specialist. The Partners and Associates of Sotra would like to extend their sincere congratulations to Karel and wish him every success in his new responsibilities.

Marian Dewaersegger succeeds Olivier Rijckaert as Managing Partner

From 1 January 2024, Marian Dewaersegger will succeed Olivier Rijckaert as Managing Partner of the firm. Olivier has held this position for the last 10 years, since Sotra was founded. Marian will take over on 1 January, having worked with Olivier in this role in tandem throughout 2023.

Olivier Rijckaert: "I'm delighted to be handing over the reins to Marian. Since joining Sotra in 2016, Marian has strongly developed the firm's Dutch-speaking practice, while taking on increasingly important roles in its day-to-day management. In addition to her undoubted skills as a lawyer, her leadership and excellent listening skills will make her a formidable Managing Partner as she takes Sotra into its next decade."

Marian Dewaersegger: "I am very grateful to Olivier for all the professional development opportunities I have received at Sotra. It is a privilege to work so closely with him and to learn from his exceptional leadership and management skills. I would also like to thank Sotra's clients for their trust over the years and the whole Sotra team for their real and enthusiastic commitment. I look forward to working with everyone to build Sotra's future."
