Vialegis keeps on growing

Vialegis recently welcomed four consultants who will reinforce the team: Sara Beernaert, Joyce Van Caeyzeele, Marie-Laure De Leener and Kathlynn Hinnekens.

Sara Beernaert graduated from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2009 with a Master's degree in Law and then obtained her Master's degree in Criminological Sciences in 2010. She then started working at the Brussels Bar, specializing in criminal and juvenile law. After three years of working in the legal profession, she chose a new direction and continued her career as a judicial officer. The position of judicial officer has led her to come into contact with various branches of the law and to equally combine the legal and humane aspects of the profession. In July 2022, Sara joined the Vialegis team as a Consultant search & selection.

In 2009, Joyce Van Caeyzeele obtained her Master of Laws at the University of Antwerp and started her professional career at the international law firm Linklaters in Brussels in the litigation department. She quickly specialised in public and private construction law for a client base consisting mainly of large national and international companies, and handled litigation before all courts, including the Council of State and international arbitration. In 2013, she moved to the Antwerp Bar and joined the boutique firm Verbist & Vanlerberghe Omega Law, where she further specialised in public procurement and construction law, as well as commercial and contractual disputes and media law. In September 2021, she was proposed as a partner. Despite these great opportunities, the desire for a new story grew and Joyce joined the Vialegis team as a Consultant search & selection in 2022.

Marie-Laure De Leener studied Political Sciences and International Law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and started her professional career in 1998 at De Bandt, van Hecke, Lagae (now Linklaters) as a legal assistant. She was soon asked to set up a recruitment and training process for new associates whilst studying law herself at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In 2001, she joined the Litigation department of the firm. In 2006, she made the switch to Knowledge Management (Corporate & Finance) first at Nauta Dutilh, then at Strelia and finally at Freshfields. After working for 16 years in Knowledge management she decided it was time to take her career in a new direction and joined Vialegis in 2022 as a Consultant search & selection.

After studying law at Queen Mary University in London and at KU Leuven, and an assistantship at law firm Contrast, Kathlynn Hinnekens began her professional career in the competition department of the US law firm Covington & Burling in Brussels. In 2018, she moved to the European Commission's competition department, DG COMPetition. In September 2022, Kathlynn joined Vialegis as a Consultant search & selection.
