To reinforce its Group legal team at the corporate headquarters, our client is looking for a Legal and Compliance Counsel.

As a Legal and Compliance Counsel, you will: 

• Gain insight in Greenyard’s operations with a view to identifying compliance risks and advising the business on how to manage/mitigate such risks;
   
• Develop and implement company policies and regulations (a.o. regarding antitrust, trade sanctions, anti-bribery & corruption, whistleblowing, etc. ).
   
• Oversee all business operations relating to compliance, identify potential regulatory hurdles and come up with effective solutions.
   
• Evaluate policies, procedures and reports and adjust if necessary.
   
• Provide legal advice (by screening, analysing, drafting, reviewing and negotiating various kinds of commercial contracts) and guidance regarding the business activities and projects.
   
• Providing legal support and advice on GDPR and privacy requirements related to Greenyard’s business. 
   
• Develop a “legal reflex” of the business by organizing a.o. legal trainings (a.o. competition & antitrust, code of conduct, whistleblowing, GDPR, anticorruption, dawn raids, trade sanctions, etc.) or providing legal tools (such as legal checklists, model contracts, etc.) in order to help the business to work autonomously.

Skills and Competencies:

• Educational Background/Working Experience: you have a master degree in Law with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in compliance and general business law (with a focus on commercial contracts, GDPR, IP). You have solid international experience as lawyer and/or in-house legal counsel in a multinational company. Experience in competition law is a strong asset. 
   
• Language Skills: you have excellent command of Dutch and English. Additional language capability in German, Spanish or French is a plus.
