Description of the vacancy

As a legal counsel at ERIKS, you will get busy with:

  • Offering legal support to ERIKS’ businesses in Belgium and Luxembourg (contract law, corporate housekeeping, M&A, commercial law, public tenders and dispute resolution);
  • Acting as a sparring partner of the management and staff departments Finance, HR and HSEQ and (pro-)actively advise and train the management, sales and procurement organization on various legal and commercial topics;
  • Assisting sales and procurement to negotiate commercial contracts with ERIKS’ business partners;
  • Assisting with the development and roll-out of international legal and compliance projects with a regional impact;
  • Managing the local insurance portfolio in consultation with the Group Insurance manager;
  • Assisting on ethics & compliance activities.

You will report directly to the Belux Legal & Compliance Manager and will be part of ERIKS’ Global Legal Team. As such, you will have regular interface with ERIKS’ General Counsel / Group Legal & Insurance department (located in The Netherlands) and ERIKS’ other legal counsels in the UK, various EU-countries and APAC in order to share best practices and discuss global legal projects and priorities.

Profile

  • Masters of law degree and 1-5 years of working experience in a reputable law firm and/or multinational company
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial law, contract law and corporate housekeeping
  • Experience in compliance matters such as export controls, data protection and anti-trust is a plus
  • Experience in an industrial or comparable B2B environment is preferable but not required
  • Proactive, pragmatic and keen to learn and develop
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills
  • Dutch as mother tongue, and fluent in French and English
