Your function

As a commercial legal counsel, you will get busy with:

Providing insightful and pragmatic commercial legal advice, touching on areas like (primarily) telco and IT services, private and public contracting, IP and consumer law, as well as (with the help of the experts in these areas) data protection and competition law.

  • Drafting and negotiating diverse commercial contracts; sharpen your skills with every draft.
  • Making sure Telenet’s marketing campaigns not only shine, but also stand unyielding in the face of scrutiny.
  • Being Telenet’s in-house expert, coordinating with external law firms, when disputes with customers arise.
  • Staying ahead of the curve by advising on (the implementation of) new legislation and ensuring Telenet is on point with compliance.
  • Designing tools and processes that can make Telenet’s legal support even better and more efficient. Craft masterpieces in the form of templates, guidelines and trainings.
  • Collaborating and contributing to the wider goals and dreams of Telenet’s tribe and the Telenet family.

You will directly report to the team manager of the legal commercial department.

Profile

Education, Experience & Interests

  • A master’s degree in laws.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, with a special shout-out to those who have been working in a solid law firm and already had a first taste of working as an in-house legal counsel.
  • A genuine interest in the technology sector and complex IT services.
  • Bonus points for prior experience in the same/similar sector or environment, but fresh perspectives are valued too.

Skills & Mindset

  • Fluent in Dutch, English and French.
  • Excellent in dissecting complex questions and decipher vast amounts of information.
  • The ability to translate legal jargon into pragmatic and relatable advice.
  • Not afraid about thinking outside the legal box.
  • Adaptive and resilient; ready to navigate in a large and very dynamic, always changing environment.
