For our Group Legal department, we are looking for a junior/mid-level legal counsel in a growing team with a desire and ambition to learn and take on a wide variety of legal tasks in close collaboration with senior legal staff, group management and external law firms. 

Your key responsibilities will consist of: 

  • Supporting the legal team with international standardization, harmonization and post-M&A projects of legal & compliance documentation (for instance, assisting in the group project to harmonize general terms & conditions in the group, the preparation of group legal templates, the improvement of IT/data policies);
  • Assistance with the drafting and negotiation of (framework) commercial agreements with key partners/suppliers/clients, including but not limited to, distribution wholesale agreements, commercial agency agreements, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) agreements, Service Level Agreements (SLA) in close collaboration with the legal, commercial and technical teams;
  • Upkeeping and taking care of updates in corporate documentation (preparing and reviewing corporate documents for the various entities in Belgium and abroad, drafting minutes, preparing and following up legal publications, signing authorities, etc.);
  • Advising local HR with labor law and related matters in collaboration with external professional advisors, and generally helping international employment support teams, to continue to make Dstny a successful employer;
  • Co-managing legal tools to facilitate the legal and compliance office (such as reporting trackers, document repositories, contract management and e-sign/e-archive tools);
  • Following-up and reporting on ongoing projects with external law firms together with your direct legal colleagues and management;
  • Co-develop a knowledge centre for relevant EU/Belgian rules, regulations and best practices in collaboration with industry experts;
  • Drafting group policies together with the technical, IT and compliance teams; and
  • Exposure to Dstny’s international M&A track.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in law or a Bachelor’s degree in law with equivalent experience;
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience;
  • Proficient in English and Dutch (good working knowledge of French is a plus);
  • Able to create professional styled documents;
  • A strong communicator and team player;
  • A dynamic, entrepreneurial spirit; and
  • A critical and pragmatic thinker.
