Dentons appoints Tom Geudens as Belgium Co-Managing Partner

Global law firm Dentons has appointed Tom Geudens to serve as Belgium Co-Managing Partner, alongside Edward Borovikov, who has led the office for the past 15 years. As Co-Managing Partners, they will work together to lead the Brussels team and the development and growth of Dentons’ office in Belgium.

“As one of the official seats of the European Union, Brussels is a strong priority for Dentons,” said Wendela Raas, Europe Chief Executive Officer. “Our two Co-Managing partners bring complementary skills that will be critical to accelerating the development of our presence in Belgium – with Edward focusing on international trade, and Tom focusing on our Belgian law offering.”

Tom Geudens is recognized among the top Banking and Finance lawyers in Belgium. With more than 20 years’ experience in corporate and finance law, he advises international banks, corporations and public sectors bodies on asset-based lending, asset finance, acquisition finance, export finance, project finance and financial services. His broad expertise covers international banking, project finance, capital markets, and financial regulation. He joined Dentons in February 2025.

Edward Borovikov is ranked as a top-tier international trade lawyer within Europe. He has more than three decades of experience in global trade and investment, cross-border commercial regulations, international trade policy and competition law. Combining legal knowledge with a background in diplomacy, he represents exporters and national governments on trade policy and negotiations, trade defense investigations, competition aspects of trade restricting measures, market access, and WTO issues, including disputes, sanctions and export control. He established Dentons’ (formerly Salans) Brussels office in 2010 and has led it ever since.

In recent months, Dentons has strengthened its presence in Belgium with the recruitment of partners Jens Debièvre as Head of the Public Law and Regulatory practice, Joris De Vos as head of the Restructuring and Litigation and Dispute Resolution practices, and Tom Geudens as Head of the Banking and Finance practice. The office brings together the talent of 25 lawyers, including 13 partners, to address clients’ complex business challenges.
