Crowell & Moring has promoted Matteo Mariano to the position of counsel, as of January 2024. In January 2023, the firm appointed Delphine Keppens to counsel and Evelien Jamaels to partner.

Matteo Mariano is an invaluable member of our Technology and Intellectual Property Department, who advises clients on all matters involving intellectual property rights. He is known for using creative solutions to obtain the best possible outcome and he represents clients from all industries, with a focus on the life sciences and technology sectors, and of all sizes, ranging from local small and medium-sized enterprises to multinational corporations. He focuses particularly on patent and trademark disputes and is always eager to understand the client’s business and the technical aspects of a case. He enjoys diving into new areas where law and technology interact in a new way, such as non-fungible tokens and the metaverse.

Kristof Roox, partner in the IP team and co-managing partner of the Brussels office: “We are extremely proud of Matteo and his well-deserved promotion. We know that clients appreciate his responsiveness, his eye for detail, his multilingualism and his friendly character. We appreciate his role as bridge builder within our team, his sense of humor and his excellent cooking recipes. We wish him all the best with this new step in his career.”
