Loyens & Loeff Belgium is delighted to announce a second round of promotions for this year. After the appointment of Stéphanie De Smedt as Partner and Aldo Engels as Counsel in January, two new promotions have been announced with Julien Lecler becoming a Partner and Mathias Hendrickx a Counsel as of 1 July 2023.
As a member of the Real Estate practice group active both in our Brussels and Luxembourg office, Julien Lecler has developed extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of real estate law, including public real estate law. This experience enables him to advise clients during all steps of a real estate development, including zoning, permits, soil issues, construction and leases. Julien is also regularly involved in real estate transactions (both asset and share deals), managing the deals from the initial offer to closing, including forward deals. Since May 2022, Julien has been expanding Loyens & Loeff’s presence in the Luxembourg Real Estate Market, working alongside our Luxembourg colleagues. He has over 15 years of experience in his field and is recognised as a Rising Star by the Legal 500, confirming his stellar reputation on the market.
Christophe Laurent, Head of the Real Estate Practice Group at Loyens & Loeff Belgium: “We are proud to welcome Julien in his new role. We are convinced that his appointment as partner is key to the further development and consolidation of Loyens & Loeff in Belgium and Luxembourg. His cross-border expertise, knowledge and dedication is a valuable asset in the further growth of our Real Estate practice.”
Ariane Brohez, Partner in the Real Estate Practice Group at Loyens & Loeff Belgium: “I am happy to congratulate Julien on his new and well-deserved role as a Partner. I am convinced that he will continue to fully thrive as a valuable asset within the team and I look forward to further developing our Real Estate practice with him in the years to come.”
Mathias Hendrickx has been a valuable member of the Corporate practice group for ten years. Mathias focuses on domestic and international M&A, private equity and equity capital markets. He represents both listed and private companies and private equity firms in an array of Belgian and cross border transactions, transactions with restructuring elements and large-scale projects. He is also a member of the firmwide Private Equity / Funds and the Capital Markets Teams.
Robrecht Coppens and Thomas Lenné, Partners in the Corporate and M&A Practice Group at Loyens & Loeff Belgium: “We congratulate Mathias with this well-deserved achievement. Mathias is a real team-player, since he joined the firm, he has been working hard, developing specific knowledge and experience, never missing an opportunity to share these with the group. Thanks to his dedication, our firm is able offer our clients integrated advice and high-quality support in complex transactions.”
