Created in 1971 as the Programme on international and Legal Cooperation (PILC), the LLM in International and European Law (60 ECTS) at the VUB Brussels School of Governance is one of the most established LLMs of its kind. Over its 50 years, the programme has accrued a strong alumni network of over 1300 lawyers in 110 countries holding high positions in all EU institutions, at the WTO, the IMF, the UN, and major international law firms on all continents. For Benelux-based legal professionals, it’s a unique opportunity to acquire a prominent law degree just around the corner.
This LLM has updated its curriculum in the Spring of 2022 to reflect the latest legal trends. It offers in-depth expertise on the core contemporary areas of international and European law. In addition, its curriculum addresses the major global and interconnected challenges of sustainability, social inclusiveness and human rights, and digitalisation, both on a theoretical and practical level.
