Curtis is pleased to announce the appointment of international trade and EU regulatory lawyer Elena Klonitskaya as partner in its Brussels office.
The appointment provides Curtis’ market-leading international trade practice with EU-based trade and competition capability, complementing its current presence in the other key international trade centres, Washington D.C. and Geneva.
Ms. Klonitskaya is admitted in both Belgium (B-list) and Russia, and has practiced EU and international trade/WTO law in Brussels since 2002. She focuses on trade remedies, including anti-dumping, anti- subsidy and safeguard investigations in the EU and U.S., and international trade compliance. Her practice also includes national security measures, sanctions and export control regulations, customs law, market access barriers, and various forms of discrimination and unfair competition, and bilateral, regional and multilateral trade agreements and investment treaties. Her sectoral experience spans the chemical, energy, steel, automotive, transport, electronics, IT, high-tech, and services industries.

The Brussels office was opened in May 2021 and reflects Curtis’ continuing international focus, which has resulted in 15 lateral partner hires in the EMEA region in the past 15 months.
