Linklaters appoints three new partners in Belgium

Linklaters has announced the election of 30 new partners drawn from 10 jurisdictions and 11 practice areas. 57% of the newly-elected partners are based outside of the UK, reflecting our global nature. The promotions take effect from 1 May 2020. 

Linklaters Belgium is particularly thrilled to welcome Isabel Rooms (Competition / Antitrust), Filip Lecoutre (Corporate M&A) and Guillaume Couneson (GDPR/IT) to the global partnership.

  • Isabelle is a well-versed competition lawyer with particular experience in large-scale public and private M&A and antitrust investigations. She advises on both European and Belgian competition law matters and also regularly works for fund/PE clients. 
     
  • Filip’s broad expertise spans the full spectrum of the corporate offering, covering private M&A, public M&A and Equity Capital Markets. He regularly advises corporates, banks and private equity firms on their most complex transactions.
     
  • Guillaume’s expertise covers an in-depth knowledge of technology blended with strong legal skills in data protection and IT law. He supports multinational clients in various sectors in cross-border / cross-practice projects, with a primary focus on advisory/transactional work as well as some litigation.
     

These appointments demonstrate Linklaters’ further investment in Belgium as a hub for international business and confirm our firm’s strategy to focus and strengthen our global across-the-board expertise. These latest additions also represent our versatility and our breadth of experience which are particularly needed to take up new challenges. We are confident that, together, our three new partners are particularly well equipped to assist our clients in these demanding times and come up with innovative solutions.

With the addition of this new cohort of partners, Linklaters Belgium now comprises a total of 25 Partners who cover a wide variety of practice areas, sectors and languages demonstrating our strength, depth and experience in the market.
