Eversheds Sutherland Belgium welcomes new Corporate M&A Partner

Benjamin Haberkorn (48) has over 20 years' experience, during which time he has built a reputation as a highly-experienced M&A lawyer. He arrives as an M&A partner within the Brussels office. He will grow the presence of the Brussels team, working closely with Eversheds Sutherland's international teams. Haberkorn will advise and assist the increasing number of domestic and international clients on a variety of M&A transactions (sale or acquisition of companies, transfer of assets or businesses, private equity/venture capital transactions, management buy-outs, restructurings, joint ventures, etc).

As a partner in the corporate M&A department, he will seek to develop this practice by leveraging on his existing client base and the international network's input. Eversheds Sutherland Brussels is furthering the development of its corporate M&A practice to increase and consolidate its presence on the M&A market in Belgium.

Stefan Corbanie, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland Belgium and Director at Eversheds Sutherland International said: "Benjamin is a first-class corporate lawyer with a proven track record in M&A. As we continue to build our profile and reputation in Belgium, Benjamin's reputation and wealth of experience will help to play a significant role in the growth of the Corporate M&A practice and our Brussels office. I look forward to his arrival and working closely with him.

Koen Devos, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland Belgium and head of the corporate commercial team in Brussels, is very pleased with this addition to the team: "We welcome Benjamin to reinforce our activities in M&A transactions for the French-speaking community in Belgium and to strengthen the strategic relationship with the Eversheds Sutherland Paris office."

Benjamin Haberkorn is looking forward to the new challenge and stated: "Eversheds Sutherland has clear aspirations to build a thriving corporate M&A practice in Belgium from their base in Brussels, and I am delighted to join the team as Partner to facilitate this ambition. They have a strong, global brand, and I am excited to grow my practice from their international platform in 2020 and beyond."
