New Board at HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER

Benoît Strowel, a member of Hoyng Monegier’s and HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER’s executive committee since 2011, will succeed Willem Hoyng as managing partner. The other members of the executive committee are Bart van den Broek, Christine Kanz, Carl De Meyer and Luis Fernandez-Novoa.

Willem will step down as managing partner after seven successful years in the position, first as managing partner of Hoyng Monegier and since 2015 as first managing partner of the new European IP Boutique HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER.
He will now dedicate his time to his busy practice and the firm’s client relationships.

Willem Hoyng: “Together with my partners, I have spent the past years creating a unique European IP boutique firm. I think the time has come to hand over the reins.”

Benoît Strowel: “It will be a challenge to fill Willem’s shoes, but I am grateful and honored to have been chosen by my fellow partners to continue developing the firm’s European presence and consolidating our top-tier position in intellectual property and pharmaceutical regulatory law. It is the quality of our people, not only legally and professionally but also on a personal level, which has made us such a successful and pleasant team to work for and with. We would like to thank Willem for all he has done for the firm.

Benoît specialises in patent litigation. He is qualified to practice law in Belgium, England and Wales and France. He splits his time between Brussels and Paris. Although a large share of his practice is in the healthcare, biotech, medical devices and pharmaceutical fields, he has handled patent cases in other areas as well, including issues pertaining to mechanical and electronics- related inventions, aviation and military inventions. Most of his work is cross-border in nature. Benoît is skilled in navigating the various jurisdictional systems in Europe and has extensive experience coordinating multi-jurisdictional patent litigation. He also has considerable expertise in the regulatory issues facing major bio-pharmaceutical companies.
