Fieldfisher promotes Olivier Proust to partnership

Fieldfisher announces today the promotion of Olivier Proust to its partnership in the firm's Privacy, Security & Information law group, effective from 1 May 2017. Olivier, who is based in the Brussels office, joined the firm in 2013 as an Of Counsel.

Member of the Paris and Brussels bars (E list for European lawyers), Olivier specialises in the field of privacy, data protection and data security law. He assists companies of all sizes and across sectors to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other European privacy legislation, including how to implement a GDPR compliance program, data mapping and data processing inventories, data protection impact assessments, Data Protection Officer, one-stop-shop, privacy policies, rights of the data subjects, and drafting/negotiating privacy clauses in data processing agreements. Olivier also helps multinational organizations to implement global privacy compliance programs and in particular to comply with data export restrictions (such as binding corporate rules, the EU standard contractual clauses, and the EU- US Privacy Shield).

He is an active member of the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) and he holds the CIPP/E certification.

Prior to joining Fieldfisher, Olivier worked in the privacy and data security teams at Morrison & Foerster and Hunton & Williams.

Olivier's promotion to partner demonstrates Fieldfisher's objective to continue growing its Privacy, Security & Information team and to service its clients in the field of privacy law across Europe. In particular, Olivier's role will be to expand the practice in Belgium and France and to advise French and multinational organizations on how to comply with the GDPR.
