Fieldfisher welcomes Maxime Berlingin as Of Counsel

Member of the Brussels bar since 2006, Maxime recently joined Fieldfisher after working 10 years at NautaDutilh, in the Corporate and Finance & Litigation and Arbitration departments.

Maxime’s practice focuses on litigation and arbitration in the field of contract law, corporate law and market abuse. His experience covers representation of Belgian and foreign clients in all stages of court and administrative proceedings.

Maxime has developed a large experience in domestic and international arbitration both as counsel and arbitrator. Maxime also handles enforcement proceedings of national and international arbitral awards before Belgian courts, as well as setting-aside proceedings.

A member of the CEPANI (the Belgian Centre for Mediation and Arbitration), the International Bar Association (IBA), the International Council for Commercial Arbitration, the Dutch Arbitration Association, Maxime is also a member of the Commission on Arbitration and ADR and of the Commission on Commercial Law an Practice of the of the International Commercial Court.

Maxime holds a Law degree obtained with Magna cum Laude from the University of Louvain (UCL) in 2005 and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the Institute of Comparative Law from the McGill University, Montreal, Canada.

While at McGill University (2005-2006), he served as research assistant to law professor Daniel Jutras, the former executive legal officer of the Canadian Supreme Court. He is currently an assistant lecturer in contract and tort law at the Saint-Louis University-Brussels and used to lecture at ICHEC Entreprises, part of ICHEC Brussels Management School.

Maxime regularly publishes on selected topics of contract law, corporate law and arbitration.
