New partner for Jones Day’s Government Regulation Practice in Brussels

The global law firm Jones Day announced today that Nadiya Nychay has joined as a Partner in the Firm’s Government Regulation Practice and is based in its Brussels Office.

Ms. Nychay has more than 20 years of experience advising corporations, sovereign governments and international organizations on trade matters out of Brussels, Washington, D.C. and Geneva. She is regarded as a leading authority on the World Trade Organization, EU regulatory and trade matters, and international trade disputes. She also counsels clients on compliance with international sanctions relating to Russia, Iran, Syria and North Korea, as well as matters relating to FCPA compliance.

At Jones Day, Ms. Nychay joins a global team of former high-ranking government officials and leading regulatory lawyers who deliver results to clients worldwide in high-profile regulatory, crisis, investigatory, enforcement and litigation matters. She will counsel Jones Day clients on regulatory and other government-facing legal problems around the globe.

Ms. Nychay started her legal career at a Brussels law firm, then served as a consultant and legal officer at the WTO in Geneva, before returning to Brussels to work in private practice at a global law firm. She has been recognized for her work in international trade law by Chambers and The Legal 500.

During her time working here in Brussels, Nadiya has successfully represented major exporters and EU domestic industries in a wide variety of trade matters, including anti-dumping and countervailing measure investigations before the European Commission,” said Alexandre Verheyden, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Brussels Office. “She has earned a reputation for excellence in the legal community here and we look forward to working alongside her at Jones Day.

Ms. Nychay earned her law degree from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, a master of laws degree from Vrije Universiteit in Brussels, and a master of laws degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
