To sustain its growth, Allen & Overy Belgium is currently looking for an Associate in its Employment & Benefits practice group.

Allen & Overy’s Belgian labour law team works with clients to meet the challenges of the modern workplace with a forward-thinking approach. The team covers all aspects of HR, pension and compensation policies, taking into account relevant issues such as labour law, social security, tax and EU provisions.

As Associate Employment & Benefits you will be part of a well-integrated and dynamic team that works on high profile Belgian and international matters and you will give innovative employment, incentives and pensions advice and develop creative strategies and solutions to HR-related issues relevant to each organisation.

You will litigate for your clients and handle transactions for them in the HR arena (closures, collective lay-offs, outsourcing, pension plan bargaining, incentives plans).

You will be closely involved in both cross-departmental and cross-border transactions and cases, backed up by regular team meetings which enable the team to share relevant experience in an efficient way.

• You obtained a Belgian Master in Law with outstanding academic results;
   
• You have 3-5 years of experience in the employment team of a reputable firm;
   
• You have an excellent command of English, Dutch and French (written and spoken);
   
• You are a team player with excellent legal capabilities and entrepreneurial spirit;
   
• You are eager to learn and have excellent communication skills;
   
• You are able to work independently and take ownership of work.
