Organisations process a large amount of personal data of customers, suppliers, as well as staff daily. Access to this data is crucial for the proper functioning of a business. However, the question often arises as to who within the company may access personal data, but also with whom outside the company the personal data may be shared.
In this webinar, Lydian’s data protection team will provide an overview of the legal and case law framework regarding the access and transfer of personal data by organisations. The aim of the webinar is to provide organisations with a practical overview that can be applied in their daily practices.
Amongst others, our data protection team will tackle the following questions
- Who may access personal data within my organisation? Are there any restrictions depending on the category of personal data?
- Can I share personal data freely outside my organisation, e.g., with suppliers? Do I need a (separate) legal ground to transfer personal data?
- Do I need to share details about my data transfers to data subjects?
- What if the data recipient is located outside the EEA, what steps must I take?
