We are cur­rent­ly look­ing to take on an out­stand­ing asso­ciate with 2 to 4 years of rel­e­vant dis­pute res­o­lu­tion expe­ri­ence, par­tic­u­lar­ly in the field of cor­po­rate and com­mer­cial law. Expe­ri­ence in in ICT-lit­i­ga­tion would be a plus. 

You will pri­mar­i­ly be engaged in day-to-day risk man­age­ment, advi­so­ry work and exter­nal rep­re­sen­ta­tion pri­or to lit­i­ga­tion, set­tle­ment nego­ti­a­tions, con­duct of lit­i­ga­tion and arbi­tra­tion pro­ceed­ings includ­ing legal research, draft­ing of sub­mis­sions and rep­re­sen­ta­tion before court and arbi­tral tribunals. 

You will advise entre­pre­neurs, investors and large, estab­lished com­pa­nies on a wide range of nation­al and inter­na­tion­al con­tentious mat­ters, such as shareholder’s dis­putes, lia­bil­i­ty of man­age­ment, tort lia­bil­i­ty, post-acqui­si­tion lit­i­ga­tion, insol­ven­cy, or dis­putes relat­ed to ser­vice or con­sul­tan­cy agree­ments, IP/ICT-agree­ments, dis­tri­b­u­tion and agency agree­ments, com­mer­cial lease, pur­chase and sale,… 

Candidates shall hold a master’s degree in law at a Belgian university and prove strong academic credentials. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are a must. 

Candidates will also have experience in intellectual property and information technology transactions and a strong interest in a career focused on intellectual property/ICT and commercial transactions. Subject matter expertise in open source, patents, privacy or copyright laws is also a plus.

Finally, we expect candidates to be able to independently manage projects and client relationships in a fast-paced environment.
